A fine Louis XVI French 18K gold and enamel pocket watch, circa 1780. The bezel with applied rope-twist decoration, the back is decorated with a fine translucent red and blue guilloche enamel panel the centre with a multicoloured gold paillon flower within a dotted border, the outer red surround with painted vermicular, outer rope-twist border entwined with green translucent enamelled leaves. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals and fine pierced gold hands.
A matte gilt movement with cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, and silvered regulation dial.
