Gold, enamel and diamond set pocket watch by Louis Mallet
–
A very fine early French gold/enamel cylinder watch with repeater and diamond setting, circa 1780. This timepiece boasts an elegant 18K gold case adorned with a stunning blue engine-turned enamel on the back. The band is decorated with enamel flowers and leaves, and a discreet opening button is cleverly concealed. The watch features a fine cylinder movement that can repeat the hours and quarters à-toc. The screwed dial is made of enamel and features incredibly rare arrow hands set with diamonds (2 diamonds missing). The hours are displayed in a Breguet-style radial format, with an outer track for the minutes.
