A French gold, enamel and pearl set verge open faced Directoire pocket watch, circa 1800. Round shaped, 18 Carat yellow gold, enamel and pearl set case, hinged case back Purple flinqué enamel (translucent enamel over guilloché engine turned), case back with, in the centre, inside a circle with gold paillons, a Daisy. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track with Arabic five minutes numerals and Fleur-de-Lys hands. Key winding, gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance and blued steel flat hairspring. Dial and movement signed.
