Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A very fine French 20K gold and en enamel open faced quarter repeating à toc verge pocket watch, circa 1780. A Louis XVI case, the back with a classical en grisaille scene highlighted with gold paillons, translucent royal blue background over sunray engine-turning, gold paillon border, the bezel decorated to match. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with Arabic five-minute numerals, winding aperture at 2 and gold beetle hands. A hinged frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation disc, repeating on the inside of the case activated by depressing the pendant.
