Gold single-handed watch by Breguet

A fine French, 18K gold Montre de Souscription pocket watch with cylinder escapement, circa 1814. Sold to Prince Sapda (Prince Sapieha-Rozanski) on January 28th 1814, for 800 Francs. An Empire, polished case. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals and outer minute track, secret signature below 12. Blued steel Breguet hand. A frosted gilt movement, souscription calibre, central barrel wound from the front or back, polished steel cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, the top pivot with pare-chute, blued steel flat balance spring, temperature compensation curb fitted to the index regulator. Dial and movement signed and numbered.
