A Swiss gold, half skeletonized quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks of Diana and Apollo, circa 1820. An Empire, engine turned case with polished bezels, flat band, and bolt at 11 to lock the repeating. Hinged and sprung gilt cuvette fitted to the movement ring. Annular white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals, skeletonized with varicoloured gold jacks of Diana & Apollo appearing to strike bells when the repeating is activated. Blued steel Breguet hands. GiIt brass, full plate movement, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm gilt balance, engraved continental clock, polished under-dial repeating work striking with two hammers on two blued steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette is signed by retailer Carl Balzerek in Müglitz.
