A fine, French gentleman’s quarter repeating pocket watch à toc with cylinder escapement and centre seconds, circa 1800.
An 18-carat rose gold, polished case, signed and numbered movement protection cap, pusher for repetition via pendant. Signed enamel dial with Roman radial hours, centre seconds, and blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, keywind, fire gilt, signed, two hammers, chain/fusee, conical movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.

Jean-Pierre Gregson originally came from England. In 1776, he was appointed watchmaker to the king in Paris. He was one of the first watchmakers of his time to use the Lépine calibre. In 1787 Gregson founded a watch manufacturer in Braille.
