A fine and rare French 18K gold open faced verge pocket watch with an enamel erotic scene, circa 1780. A Louis XVI case, the bezel chased with a guilloché pattern, a polychrome enamel erotic scene on the back depicting a lady in a hoist being lowered onto a gentleman, chased gold flower border. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals, gold Louis XVI hands. A gilt-brass full plate movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
