An early and rare French gilt metal octagonal one-handed Renaissance pendant watch, circa 1600-1650. This watch features a full plate movement with a verge escapement, an enamel dial with Roman radial hours, an inner minutes track, half-hour markers, and a single steel hand. The gilt metal case is mounted in bevelled rock crystal and has a pierced and engraved frame. It was made by watchmaker Timothée Hubert (the Elder), who was active between 1600 and 1650.
