Maison Chaumet
Founded in 1780 by Marie-Étienne Nitot, Chaumet rose to prominence as the official jeweller to Napoleon I, creating elaborate jewellery and ceremonial pieces for the French Empire. The business passed through several hands, including Jean Baptiste Fossin and Joseph Chaumet, each adding their style and influence. Chaumet specialised in tiaras and Art Deco designs. After facing financial difficulties and bankruptcy in the late 20th century, Chaumet was acquired by Investcorp and later LVMH. Today, Chaumet continues to be a luxury jewellery and watch brand, known for its blend of fine jewellery design and Swiss watchmaking expertise, with boutiques worldwide.
