Important  pocket watch with early lever escapement

A French important and extremely rare quarter repeating Breguet pocket watch with early lever escapement, circa 1821.
Manufactured in best movement quality “Garde Temps” – sold on October 19th, 1821 to Monsier Hatfield for 4800 Francs – with original numbered silk lined Morocco case, as well as an original winding key and numbered Breguet certificate.
18 Carat gold case, case design “collier”, engine turned. Silver signed dial, engine turned center, auxiliary eccentric seconds between four and five o’clock, Roman numerals. Bridge movement, key wind, one hammer and one gong, unusual going train, extra wheel & pinion and train count, shock protection-“parachute”, compensation balance with gold and platinum screws and weights.
