Gilt and silver single-handed oignon

A French gilt metal and silver Louis XIV single-handed Oignon watch wound through the centre, circa 1690. Gilt brass full plate fire gilt movement with turned baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short flat balance spring, fine gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage, rack and pinion regulator.
Silver overlaid case back and bezel lightly engraved with flowers and foliage.
Silver dial with radial Roman numerals and half and quarter-hour divisions. It has blued steel hand. Signed on the back plate.
