A very fine and rare, 18K gold pocket watch with date and visible central verge escapement, France circa 1800. Gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement fitted to the centre and visible through the dial and back plate, plain gold three-arm balance, small balance bridge with polished steel end-piece.
Polished case, the back centred with a glazed aperture revealing the balance wheel and escapement.
White enamel dial with eccentric with Breguet numerals, outer minute track and small subsidiary dial for the date on each side of the central escapement observation aperture. Gold Breguet hands. Dial and movement signed, case stamped with Neuchâtel hallmark.
