Chatelaine watch set with pearls and rubies in original box
–
A very fine numbered ‘Louis XV’ style chatelaine watch set with brilliants, pearls and rubies in original ‘Parodi’ box, made by Laforge in Besançon, France, circa 1890. The numbered open faced case of the chatelaine watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold and has fantastic Art Nouveau relief work, original diamonds, rubies and two Oriental pearls. The white enamel dial has Roman twelve hour numerals (outside) and Arabic twenty four hour numerals (inside) and gold hands. The movement has a fine cylinder escapement and probably a Le Coultre caliber.
The cuvette is numbered and signed.
