Silver verge pocket watch by Gaudron

A fine French verge pocket watch from the watchmaker to the King of France and to the Duc d’Orleans, circa 1695.
Silver polished case with a large lateral hinge. Enamel dial with blue radial Roman numerals in raised cartouches, Arabic minutes on the outer track and blued “Fleur de Lys” hands. Fine full plate movement, keywind, firegilt and signed, with applied florally engraved and pierced silver ornaments, chain/fusee, silver Egyptian movement pillars, three-arm steel balance and a finely engraved and pierced silver balance bridge with two fantasy birds.
