Gold heavy quality 1A pocket watch

A heavy, quality 1A hunting cased quarter repeating pocket watch made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1897. The numbered case was crafted from 18 carat gold and its cuvette is engraved with an owner’s dedication dated March 24, 1899. The stepped white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, outer minute divisions, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The numbered, glazed movement is fitted with an A. Lange & Söhne precision lever escapement, a gold lever, gold escape wheel, screwed gold chatons and a fine adjusting device.
The case and movement have matching numbers, and the dial, movement and presentation box are signed.
