A high quality, rare, exceptionally large 18K red gold, North German spindle watch in double-case, circa 1795.
Polished 18K red gold double case, matching case hallmarks and year hallmark 1795, glazed dust cover, signed I. or L. George a Stralsund. Magnificent, flat spindle mechanism, steel balance, diamond endstone, and very nicely decorated. Exceptionally well-preserved enamel dial with Arabic radial hours, outer minutes track with five minutes numerals, and red gold arrow hands.
