Spring detent chronometer watch

A military marine chronometer watch, made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1940. The case of this watch was crafted from bakelite and mounted with a gimbal suspension in the original glazed wooden box with carrying handles. The numbered silvered original dial features an outer minute and hour track with Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a 56 hours power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, gold spade tipped time hands and blued steel hands for the seconds dial and the power reserve indicator. The numbered A. Lange & Söhne chronometer movement is equipped with a spring detent chronometer escapement, a movement holder, a helical hairspring, a chronometer balance and bears the company stamp.
The dial and movement bear matching numbers and the dial is signed.
