An extremely rare German 18 carat gold hunting cased doctor’s watch with independent jumping seconds mechanism seconde morte, circa 1889. Frosted gilt 3/4 plate movement, blued screws, applied seconde morte mechanism, gold screwed compensation balance, blued balance spring, florally hand engraved balance cock, gold lever and escape wheel. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic Empire numerals, sunken centre and auxiliary seconds, blued spade hands. Smooth Jürgens case. Dial and movement signed.
