Gilt metal, silver and rock crystal pendant watch by Johan Georg Reinhold

A French one-handed octagonal verge pendant watch, circa 1635. This watch has a gilt full plate movement with a verge escapement and a pierced and engraved balance cock. The engraved silver dial displays black enamel Roman numerals on a silver chapter ring and a steel single hand. The case is made of gilt metal and has a hinged rock crystal cover that conceals the dial. The watchmaker Johan Georg Reinhold, was active in Germany around 1640 and became a master in 1643. His signature can be found on the movement.
