Large pair cased watch with “Kappel escapement” by Auguste Martinet 
–
A heavy, large pair cased experimental pocket watch with an up to now undocumented escapement for half seconds jumping, so called “Kappel escapement”. Outer case – gold plated, coated with leather, five piece lateral hinge. Inner case – gold plated, smooth. The dial is enamel, radial Roman numerals, day- and date indication and Poker & Beetle hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, conical movement pillars, signed, blued screws, on both sides teethed escapement wheel, “whip” for jumping seconds, stopping device, three-arm brass balance, florally engraved, pierced balance bridge, silver regulator disc, garnet endstone on balance.
