A rare German hunting cased pocket watch for the North American market, manufactured in quality 1A, circa 1880.
18 carat rose gold, polished, à goutte case with engraved noble family crest and motto: “Fair Mon Devoir” (“To do my duty”) of the Earls of Roden, reeded band, gold dome and glazed movement. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. 3/4 plate movement, decorated, nickel-plated, with screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance, gold lever and escape wheel and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
