Half hunter cased free sprung lever by William Rogers

An English free sprung lever in a large 18 Carat gold half hunter case, hallmarked Chester 1874. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock, compensation balance with free sprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with end stones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals and blue steel hands. Substantial case with blue enamel chapter ring. Clip on back engraved with a coat of arms and monogram. On the inside the dedication ‘Enrique Hope Bolland – from his Father and Mother – 2nd May 1929’. Maker’s mark ‘RO’ in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.
