Gold, enamel and pearl set form watch

An unusual 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set, filigree decorated watch in the shape of a mandolin, circa 1810. The sound board in 18 carat gold filigree, the sound hole with filigree gold foliage and green and black enamel decoration in the centre, raised gold wreath border. The back of the sound chest with alternating two ogival translucent red enamel segments and gold segments with chased foliage. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals and gold Breguet hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement, cylndrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three arm balance, blued steel balance spring, continental cock, rack and pinion regulator with a silver plate.
