A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced pocket pocket watch with quarter repeater, made for Enrico Volpe, Bari, Apulia Italy, circa 1886,
White enamel dial with steel Breguet hands, keyless-winding, round-shaped, pocket watch, with subsidiary seconds at 6, quarter-repeater on two steel gongs, activated by the slide at 4 o’clock. Case back guilloché engine turned with polychrome enamelled coat-of-arms, stamped with a Count crown, fluted case band.

The Extract from the Archives, dated November 9, 2014, mentioned that this watch was sold on November 8, 1888. The watch is accompanied by a fitted box and a coin engraved with the individual lot number of this thematic sale, Patek Philippe 175 – 18392014, including 100 lots. Enrico Volpe, Bari This watch is distinguished by its large size and its decorative coat-ofarms. Retailed by Enrico Volpe, Bari, Apulia (Italy), it was most probably made at the request of a noble family from the region. This clockmaker retailed excellent swiss watches with horological complications, notably made by Perret & Berthoud, Zenith and Patek Philippe
