A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever pocket watch, made by Breguet, circa 1886. Sold on 15 March 1890 to Mr Noël. The watch has a mechanical movement, featuring crown winding, a lever escapement, a bimetallic cylindrical balance spring, and an advance/retard adjustment. The white enamel dial displays Roman numerals for the hours, with an outer minute track marked with Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and spade shaped hands. The round case is hinged, with the back engraved with an initial N and two interlaced English initials on a guilloché background. The gold bowl is signed and numbered, and the inside case back contains additional numbers.
