Heavy pocket watch with English lever escapement
–
A heavy pocket watch with very rare movement construction, made by W. & M. Dodge in Manchester, England, circa 1868. The very solid open faced case with English Hallmarks from 1868 is crafted from 18 Carat gold and has a monogram on the back. The white enamel dial has an outer ring for the minutes and hours with black Roman numerals for the hours, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and blued steel hands. The technically very interesting numbered movement of very fine quality has an English lever escapement and a diamond end stone. Dial and movement are signed.
