An extremely rare and early A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte “Krüssmann-Chronograph” quality 1A with original box and extract from the archives, so-called Dead-Seconds Chronograph, circa 1887. An 18K gold, very massive, stepped case à-goutte, case and movement with matching numbers, dome with Brazilian dedication from 11.4.1888, very fine, signed and numbered precision lever movement in top quality 1A, gold escape wheel, gold lever, fine adjusting device, diamond endstone, screwed gold chatons and gold chronograph wheels, signed original enamel dial with red minutes and 1/5 seconds graduation, pink gold hands, in very good, unworked condition with original box.
This is a very rare Lange chronograph in best quality, specially made for Frederico Krüssmann in Rio. All Krüssmann watches are of special interest to collectors, as they are always watches in 1A quality. Only very few pocket watches that were ordered by Krüssmann had a complication!
