A fine and rare English, a silver pair cased pocket watch with rack lever escapement, circa 1813. The case is made by WM with London hallmarks for 1813-1814. The outer and inner cases are polished, gilt brass dust caps. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary 15 second dial. Gold spade hands.
A hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, jewelled to the third, fusee and chain, Harrison’s maintaining power, three wheel train, rack lever escapement with large brass escape wheel, steel balance with flat balance spring, diamond end stone, single footed cock.
Dial, dust cap and movement signed.
