An Irish very rare blind man’s 18 K gold hunting cased pocket watch with English hallmarks, circa 1840.
Engine turned 18 carat gold case with English hallmarks 1840, original dome and reeded mid section; extravagant English movement with signed and numbered main plate, a very big balance ca. Ø22 mm, diamond endstone, splendid engraved bridge and chain/fusee; unique white enamel dial with gold ball tips to feel the time for the blind, Roman numerals and gilt hands. One of the earliest known blind man’s watches.
