Francesco Manfredini was one of four brothers: Francesco, Luigi (1771-1840), Antonio (1786-1838), and Giuseppe Manfredini. They were born in Bologna to Giuseppe Manfredini and Anna Ruggi. In 1798, the brothers moved from Bologna to Milan, where they worked in Fontana, near Porta Comasina. The brothers had a bronze foundry called the Manufacture Royale de Bronze de Fontana there. They created various items such as busts, pendant housing, vases, chandeliers, and candlesticks. This foundry was supported by the Viceroy of Italy, Eugène de Beauharnais. Luigi Manfredini was an engraver, medal designer, and manufacturer, while Francesco, the oldest brother, was a goldsmith, jeweller, and watchmaker. He also worked in Paris for several years. Francesco Manfredini passed away on June 16, 1810. He was likely born around 1769.
