An extremely rare, single-handed Dutch pair-case verge watch with early day & night indication, date and hour indication via rotating disc, Nicolaas Doornheck Amsterdam, circa 1725. A silver pair-case, Dutch watchpaper, signed and numbered verge movement with worm gear, extraordinary repoussé/champlevé dial with representation of Chronos, the god of time, semi-circular window with blued day/night indication and rotating hour indication, central minute hand, date aperture at 6, dial also signed, very beautiful, completely original condition, minimal imperfection at the opening button of the case, matching original and very decorative watch key. The blued day and night disc of this watch is particularly detailed and intricate.
