An early Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set hunting cased watch, circa 1853. Retailed by Tiffany & Co. Gilt cylinder movement. Gold numbered cuvette, signed by maker and retailer. White enamel dial, Roman numerals and blued steel moon hands. Case with floral decoration to the cover, translucent green enamel leaves, over an engine turned ground, diamond set flowers on a black enamel background, the reverse similarly decorated with a central plaque with engraved initials surmounted by a crown. With an Extract from the Archives confirming all decorative elements and sale on September 28th, 1853. Further accompanied by a 1950 letter of authentication from Patek Philippe confirming the sale date.
