A very rare and fine American 14 carat gold hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch with unusual winding and setting mechanism, circa 1887. Made for the Turkish market. Full plate nickel finished lever movement with unusual damascening, bimetallic compensation balance. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Turkish numerals and sunken subsidiary seconds. B.W.C.C. Co engraved case, both covers with Islamic gardens with fountain and mosque, landscape in the background, surrounded by abstract scroll and foliate design, engraved scroll design to the band, both rims with reeding. Dial and movement signed, case signed and numbered.
