An unusual and early English silver pair cased open faced wandering hour royal presentation watch with an enamel portrait of King William III, circa 1700. Full plate gilt finished verge movement, chain and fusee, finely pierced and engraved foliage decorated balance cock and foot. Engraved foliage decorated gilt dial, aperture in the revolving ring for the Roman wandering hours, outer silver 60 minutes indication, applied gilt military trophies centred by the oval polychrome painted portrait of King William III under glazed cover, surmounted by the Royal Crown held by two eagles. Plain inner and outer cases. Movement signed.
