A Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating watch with striking and concealed automaton jaquemarts, circa 1820. Gilt finished full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three armed brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock. White enamel ring with Arabic numerals, minute division, blued steel moon style hands and animated vari coloured gold Cupids striking the hours and quarters. Empire style case, engine turned band, bezel and back, hinged gilt cuvette, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant, locking bolt for the repeating at 2. Case numbered.
