An English 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl-set open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1781. Gilt full plate movement, verge escapement, fusee and chain, diamond endstone. White enamel dial with Roman hours and outer minute divisions. The case back with a locket of hair in the centre, enamel and diamond-set cartouche inscribed Amitie, surrounded by pearls, translucent purple and green enamel borders and simulated enamel pearls, London hallmark for 1781. Movement signed.
