An English gold pair case quarter repeating verge watch by James Drury, London, circa 1810. Gilt full plate movement, fusee and chain, tapered cylindrical pillars, pierced silver cock with diamond end stone, repeating on bell by depressing pendant, signed silver dust cap. White enamel dial, contemporary replacement, Roman chapters, Arabic minutes and gold arrow hands. Inner case pierced and engraved with foliate scrolls and mask, mid-18th century, the outer plain, hallmarked London, 1810, apparently purpose made for this inner case. With associated short gold chain and later key.
