French silver pair cased verge watch with alarm Circa 1670

A French silver pair cased verge with alarm, circa 1670. Gilt full plate movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, plain three-arm balance, early short balance spring with rack and worm screw regulator. Silver champlevé dial, Roman numerals, inner track with quarter-hour divisions and inner rotating alarm disc with Arabic numerals. The inner case is finely pierced and engraved with flora and fauna decoration throughout the plain outer case. Movement signed Nicolas Massy à Blois.
