A probably a military cavalry deck watch with very a rare original leather case for attachment to the saddle, made in Switzerland circa 1874. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from Nickel and the white enamel dial features an outer minutes and hours track with Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial with a large hand for observation purposes at 6 o’clock, a dial for the names of the week day in German at 2 o’clock, a dial for the day of the month at 10 o’clock and steel hands. The numbered movement is fitted with a lever escapement.
