The present watch is of the owner of the Borsig-Werke Berlin, Ernst von Borsig. The founded factory by August Borsig in 1837 mainly built locomotives. Initially, the required iron had to be imported from England. This dependence led to the founding of an own ironworks in Moabit in 1847, which was opened in 1850.
