A rare English 18 carat rose gold open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1812. Full plate movement, key wind, a rack lever escapement according to Peter Litherland and three-arm steel balance. A movement protection cap. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade & whip hands. The plain case with maker’s mark TH for Thomas Helsby, Liverpool. Dial, case and movement numbered, case and movement with matching numbers.
