A very rare English Rococo verge watch in Meissen style, made for the Ottoman market, circa 1760. The timepiece features a leton enamelled case designed in the Meissen porcelain style, adorned with exquisite Rococo painting and an enamel floral painting on the inside. It has an original English verge movement, showcasing typical Ottoman pillars and a regulating disc inscribed with Ottoman script. The watch’s dial is Ottoman, with a restored enamel painting complemented by gilt hands.

It is extremely uncommon to find the version made for the Ottoman market. During this time, enamel watches from France, England, and Germany imitated Meissen porcelain. Nevertheless, only a limited number of English models were created specifically for the Ottoman market.
