A rare Swiss Art Deco gold enamel handbag watch with spring-loaded sliding clasps, circa 1929.
Rectangular, 18K gold case, crown with a sapphire cabochon, four times screwed on the side, decorated with white and red stripes in Champlevé enamel, black enamel bezel with golden Roman numerals. At the top and bottom of the case, there are black bars which, when pressed, open the spring-loaded and engine-turned sliding locks and reveal the silver-plated dial with blued Breguet hands. Movement, fifteen jewels, three adj., lever escapement, and signed: European Watch & Clock Co. INC.
