Oval pocket watches were relatively common in the 17th century. In the 18th century, however, this shape of cases almost disappeared. All the more rare is a piece from around 1800, signed Breguet, equipped with a rare repeater and high quality movement. There probably is only one comparable watch by Louis Duchêne & Fils, Geneva.
