Enamel and pearl set centre seconds lever by Léo Juvet

Very fine Swiss mirror image pair of silver, painted on enamel and pearl set pocket watches with centre seconds, and original morocco fitted case and keys, made for the Chinese market, circa 1875.
Gilded and entirely foliate engraved movement, 16 jewels, free standing barrel, counter poised lateral lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, white metal flat balance spring, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.

Back cover decorated with a finely painted portrait of a young lady in a powdered wig with a garland of rosesand a lace edged dress, the portrait is surrounded by dark blue translucent enamel over engine turned decoration, the bezels set with half pearls, spring loaded, gilded and glazed cuvette.
White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute markers and fifteen minute Arabic numerals. Blued steel ovoid hands.
Movements signed Juvet in Chinese characters. The cases with English style prestige marks.
