Much of Abraham Louis Breguet’s success was due to the perfection of the Perpétuelle, in which he used two mainspring barrels and a platinum weight. In the end, he achieved a much thinner automatic watch. Breguet managed to accomplish this by placing the winding weight within the body of the movement rather than the normal position of above the movement.Four other Perpétuelles from this series are known.
