A Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced gentlemen’s pocket watch with chronograph and an early, rare depiction of a car racing, circa 1910. Sold on April 21st, 1911. Comes with the original presentation box and a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives.
The case back with a chased decor of a contemporary car racing, a numbered and signed gold cuvette with the presentation engraving El Personal Del Hospital Durand A Su Digno Director Doctor Alvaro J. Newton, 20 Mayo 1919, a pusher for the chronograph via the pendant and a chronograph locking device. Signed white enamel dial with radial Dauphine hours, outer minute divisions, a fifth of a second track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals, auxiliary seconds at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter at 12, gold spade hands and a central chronograph hand.
The signed, frosted gilt bridge movement with very finely ground and bevelled steel chronograph parts, a ratchet wheel, wolf’s teeth winding wheels, a gold screw compensation balance and counterpoised moustache lever.
