An extremely rare, square and one-handed Swiss verge pocket watch, circa 1630-1686. This watch has a square gilded full plate movement that is beautifully adorned with a pierced and engraved balance cock, and classic verge escapement. The watch features an elegant enamel dial with Roman radial hours, a minutes track, and a single Louis XV-style hand. The silver square case is adorned with intricate floral engravings. It was crafted by the skilled hands of Pierre Duhamel (1630–1686) and bears his signature on the works.
