Stainless steel pocket watch with black dial by Omega
–
A probably military, rare Art Deco Omega oversized stainless steel pocket watch with an open face and special black dial, circa 1930. The timepiece features a special steel case with a fluted edge, giving it a distinctive look. Its three-body design includes a brushed back, polished band, and bezels. The fine nickel-plated lever movement showcases Geneva stripes, 15 jewels, a straight-line lever escapement, and a cut-bimetallic compensation balance with a Breguet balance spring. What sets this watch apart is its extremely rare black sandwich dial with inlaid gold indexes, outer gilt minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, and gold hands. The watch is signed on the dial, case, and movement.
